Paul Robeson at the Savoy Ballroom
In the 1920-1930s their was a cultural movement known as the Harlem Renaissance; where the most significant singers, actors, dancers, musicians, writers & social intellectuals the world has ever know lived. These descendants of rebellious enslaved Africans, created & influenced every form of music on earth, except Opera & Classical . Those same Africans they bought & sold & locked in cages, now shined like Stars when they stepped on stages. This is a small clip from one of the scenes. Injured my knee earlier that day at the hotel, so there was slight limp, but the show must go on.
